A new painting....

So today I have mainly been to the printers and putting lots of new cards and prints on the website when to be honest I would rather be painting.....A few days ago I managed to finish a new allium painting.

These are so much fun to do, my aim is to create the essence of an allium without painting every detail. I sketch them quickly then in with the paint, mixing as I go. On the paper.....I love adding new colours and working quickly...

I splash the paint around and add reds, blues and permanent rose.....

There is also green in there....

Then when I am happy with the flowers I add some acrylic paint in white to add some in a nice 'splatty' style

Finally time to do the little bees ...I love their little furry bodies.

and the painting is done.Much more fun than updating files and sorting out the admin !
